Project Brief: McDonald's Happy Meal Box Redesign
In this project, students will be tasked with redesigning the McDonald's
Happy Meal box with an educational message.
Objective:
The objective of this project is to encourage students to use their
creative skills to redesign a well-known brand's packaging design. The
added challenge of including an educational message will help students
think more critically about the design and its impact on the audience.
Tasks:
Research and analysis: Students must research McDonald's brand and its
target audience. This will help them understand the company's values,
the products they offer, and the demographics they cater to.
Concept development:
Students must develop a concept for the new Happy Meal box design that
incorporates an educational message. The design should be visually
appealing, and the message should be clear and engaging.
Progress:
Students must draft their designs and submit them for review. They
should include detailed sketches or mock-ups of their design and a
written explanation of the educational message they have chosen.
Deliverables:
• Sketches or mock-ups of the Happy Meal box design.
• A written explanation of the educational message and its
significance.
• A final design of the Happy Meal box.
Assessment:
The final designs will be assessed based on the following
criteria:
• Originality and creativity.
• Relevance to McDonald's Happy Meal brand and target
audience.
• Clarity and appropriateness of the educational message.
• Visual appeal and overall presentation.
My Idea:
Through the wayang-themed Happy Meals, McDonald's can contribute to
the preservation of traditional culture by creating a widespread
platform for its promotion. By reaching a wide audience of children
and families, McDonald's can raise awareness about the importance of
preserving cultural traditions and encourage parents to pass down
their heritage to future generations.
By combining the popularity and accessibility of Happy Meals with the
educational value of promoting traditional culture, the wayang-themed
Happy Meals can serve as a catalyst for preserving and fostering
appreciation for Malaysian heritage among children.
